A Bit About Us
Generation Action Africa is an advocacy and empowerment platform that seeks to identify and rectify loopholes within youth development systems that make it difficult for young people to attain employment or support for entrepreneurship.
Background/History
Generation Action Africa (GAA) was formed on June 10th 2020 by African youths at the virtual African Union Youth Consultations on Covid-19, African & Global Solidarity.
The forum was aimed at bringing the African Union closer to young people, fostering intergenerational dialogues and Co-leadership, driving conversations for youth collective response, enabling youth with information and inspire with calls to action, and securing commitments from decision makers. Amongst the many issues disclosed at the forum, youth unemployment took centre stage, creating a need to accelerate youth oriented programmes aimed at reducing the level of youth unemployment on the continent. The youths in attendance resolved to organize themselves and be strategic about their own development. Generation Action Africa was founded on that day by like-minded young africans from across the globe.
